1. Start Guide
1.1 Introduction
NORMON Ai+ is a professional, cross-platform roasting and roast-logging system designed for all coffee roaster brands. This guide explains how to install and use the Windows version.
1.2 System Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Intel/AMD 64-bit processor
- Minimum 4 GB RAM
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime
- 500 MB free storage
1.3 Installation
- Download the installer from: https://norcofeeroaster.com/tutorial-normon/
- Run the installer
- Launch NORMON Ai+ from Start Menu or Desktop
1.4 First Launch
On first launch you will see modules:
- Roast Log (BT/ET/ROR live chart)
- Inventory
- Cupping Note
- Firmware Tools
- Communication Setup

NORMON Ai+ receives continuous updates including new features, performance improvements, UI enhancements, and device compatibility upgrades.

3.1 Windows
- Native WPF application
- Live BT/ET/ROR
- Control sliders supported
- HTTP, TCP, RTU protocol
- Firmware Flashing (ESP32 & Arduino)
3.2 macOS
Runs via MAUI/Avalonia version with Chart.js roasting engine and WKWebView modules.
3.3 Android
- WebView architecture
- Live roasting using Chart.js
- Local CSV roast log
- Firmware ESP32 via Wi-Fi
3.4 iOS & iPadOS
WKWebView-based roasting UI with full responsive charts and CSV export features.
4. Connecting Your Machine
NORMON Ai+ supports three communication protocols:
4.1 HTTP
- Most stable
- Recommended for ESP32-based roasters
- Low latency
- Reliable slider control & event triggering
4.2 TCP
Direct socket connection. Stability depends on firmware mapping and byte structure.
- Used for custom devices
- Requires correct register/buffer mapping
- Potential BT/ET swap if firmware not aligned
4.3 Modbus RTU
- Industrial-grade stability
- COM port communication
- Supports BT/ET and all control parameters
- Ideal for Arduino, RS485, ESP32 RTU mode
4.4 Setup Steps
- Open Setup Communication Protocol
- Select: HTTP / TCP / RTU
- Configure:
- IP Address (HTTP/TCP)
- COM Port (RTU)
- Baud Rate / Data Bits / Parity
- Timeout
- Click Connect
- Observe BT/ET values
5. Start Roasting
5.1 Preheat
Monitor BT/ET during warm-up. NORMON Ai+ supports negative time for preheat profiling.
5.2 Charge
Click CHARGE when beans enter drum. Timer starts at 00:00 and ROR calculation begins.
5.3 Roasting Phase
- Live BT/ET/ROR update
- Event markers: Turning Point, Dry End, First Crack, Second Crack
- Real-time control sliders (if supported by machine)
- Auto Charge & Auto Drop options
5.4 Drop
Click DROP when reaching desired roast level. Cooling phase begins automatically.
5.5 Save Roast Log
After pressing STOP, roast is saved to:
Documents/NORMON Ai+/Roastlog/
CSV includes all temperature data, ROR, events, and metadata.
